Marc Morris

marc_morris_website_2009.jpgDr Marc Morris is an historian and broadcaster, specialising in the Middle Ages. In 2003 he presented the highly acclaimed six-part series Castle for Channel 4 and wrote its accompanying book. He has also contributed to history programmes on Five and UK TV History, as well as other shows on Channel 4 and Radio 4.

Marc’s most recent book, A Great and Terrible King: Edward I and the Forging of Britain, was published in 2008 to widespread critical acclaim. An expert on medieval monarchy and aristocracy, he has written numerous articles for History Today, BBC History Magazine and Heritage Today. In his most recent academic paper he has proposed a new date for the construction of King Arthur’s Round Table at Winchester. He is currently working on a new history of the Norman Conquest.

Marc lectures regularly to visiting international students, academic seminars and historical societies. He also leads specialist tours of UK castles and speaks regularly at literary festivals.
