Matt Barbet

Matt Barbet is a news correspondent and presenter for Channel Five News. He moved to Channel Five in October 2007 after spending four years as one of the main presenters at BBC London.

He trained at Cardiff's well-known journalism school, before beginning his career proper when he joined ITN's radio department. After two years in the basement at Gray's Inn Road, he joined Radio 1 Newsbeat and has been at the BBC ever since.

Having also been a regular pundit on BBC3's Liquid News, as well as a passionate/frustrated Liverpool fan, Matt is as comfortable covering entertainment and sport as he is covering news.

Matt also chairs conferences and seminars and is a highly skilled conference facilitator and after dinner speaker. He has a wealth of experience hosting events and award ceremonies, both at home and abroad.
